Granville Terrace
Granville Terrace | Highgate Garden
This garden was designed around a new house renovation that transformed the whole space into a more modern and contemporary garden build.
The garden design was focused around merging the old with the new, and the clients brief was to design and build an easy care, modern garden that will allow her to stay for years to come.
The main focus is the outdoor entertaining space, which is placed to allow easy indoor-outdoor flow with new paved and decked surfaces allowing level access into and out of the house.
The use of shiplap concrete walls and planters allows areas to be defined as well as a new set of floating steps placed as the main access into the house from the drive, all lighted for night effect.
An outdoor bar leaner and outdoor table and seats sets the theme for easy city living and the access all around the house is taken care of with decks and non- slip surfaces.
The plantings are based on allowing more colorful themes around the sitting areas, while the main boundary gardens are established to quickly fill and form total cover while still adding interest with form and texture and little maintenance. The garden not only is easy to live with, it looks as good at night, as it is in the daytime.
